One year of the Data Act
Date
Event Description
On the 12th of September, the Data Act marked its first anniversary, and EU co-legislators are already considering changes to the legislation through the Digital Omnibus. One year on, is the Data Act making a difference delivering in practice?
CARUSO has assessed how more than 25 vehicle manufacturers are implementing the Data Act, examining access conditions for in-vehicle data and the availability of data needed for 12 concrete use cases. At this exclusive event, CARUSO will present its findings for the first time, providing the basis for discussion on whether the Data Act is delivering fair competition and enabling innovative data-driven services.
The findings will be discussed with EU policymakers and representatives of the automotive and wider mobility ecosystem:
• What are the lessons learned from the first year of application?
• What are the remaining barriers to effective access to in-vehicle data?
• How should the existing framework be implemented and complemented to ensure fair competition, consumer choice and a level playing field for innovative data-driven services?
